PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Fete Week!
We have had a small group of dedicated volunteers led by Mrs Amanda Waters who have worked tirelessly since the start of the year to ensure we have a wonderful celebration. The Banksia Bonanza is all set to be a great day. We have children’s performances, rides, activities, great food, stalls and finishing with fireworks. Make sure you provide the missing ingredient – a huge crowd. I look forward to celebrating this day with you and our Parents and Citizens Association. Remember all money raised is allocated to improving outcomes for your students.

SPORTS NEWS

Coles Sports For Schools Program

Our school has registered for the Coles Sports Program. Every $10 spent at Coles supermarkets, Coles Online, Bi-Lo and Pick ‘n Pay from 2 September to 31 October will earn customers a Coles Sports for School voucher worth 1 point. For as little as 85 points our school can choose some brand new sporting equipment. Vouchers are provided with receipt at point of purchase. It’s pretty simple – collect more vouchers and get more gear. Students can collect vouchers from their family, friends and neighbours (and teachers!) and drop them into the voucher collection box at the school office. So start collecting today!

We have a large amount of UNNAMED lost property in the lost property box.  Please check the items at the School Canteen to see if any items belong to your child/children.

All items will be kept until Friday the 6th of August, any unclaimed items after this date will be sent to a charity store.

Please ensure that all your children's items are named* which will help us in returning them to their owners.  Please see Amanda at the canteen for further information.

FETE - Volunteer Roster

Volunteer Roster

The volunteer roster has been finalised and will be sent home with your child. Thank you to all our volunteers for offering their time for the Fete.

Any queries please see Amanda at the canteen or phone on 3408 9044.

Student Absences

Student Absences: In the event of a child being absent from school for any reason, parental explanation is necessary. If you know in advance that your child is going to be absent for a period of time, early advice to your child’s teacher would be appreciated. Upon return to school, a note should be sent to the teacher. We are required by law to contact a family if a student is absent from school for five (5) consecutive days without explanation.

Early Pick Up of Students

A reminder that if you are picking up your child early you must first sign them out in the school office and receive a card before proceeding to classrooms. Teachers will not release students without receiving the appropriate card

Newsflash

PARKING IN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS

A reminder to parents that only parents with school issued SEU parking permits are permitted on the school grounds in the turn circle area adjacent to the Admin/SEU buildings. Disabled parking permits are not valid in this area and we asked that drivers refrain from entering the school grounds. Unauthorised cars in this area endangers the lives of our students.
